My family and I were able to visit Washington, DC this past week and had a great time. We visited Congress, the Supreme Court, the Pentagon, and many different Monuments. But I believe the most impacting place I visited was the Arlington National Cemetery. Walking among the tombstones of so many men and women who paid the ultimate price to give us freedom was very thought provoking. It made me appreciate so much more the sacrifices that these brave men so that I could be free.
The amazing thing is that they came from different financial and social backgrounds, religions, ethnicities, and families, but they all came together to fight for our liberty. They did not fight so that they could gain fame or fortune. They fought and died so that EVIL would not destroy our society. They fought for their families, for their freedom and ultimately for their GOD. As believers it is our responsiblity to defend the future generation and prepare them to face the evils of this world.
In spite of the tremendous sacrifices that these men and women made, liberty, as we know it, will soon be extinguished. Not because of some dictator invading our country, nor because of some great war, but because OUR generation either don't recognize the danger of the evil  we are facing, are afraid to fight for RIGHT, or simply don't care. Our country will never be the same if we do not stand up and be courageous enough to pay the price for Liberty.
It simply takes one generation to turn the tide. Either for good or for evil. Hitler overtook Germany with one generation. The people of Israel forgot about GOD in one generation. (Judges 1) The disciples turned this world around in one generation. (Acts 17:6) Remember that although it may take one generation to transform the world, the effect of that change lasts for many generations if not forever. Wether we stand for GOD or not will affect, not only our generation, but the generations to come! We have a grave responsibility on our hands!
In Hebrews:12:1-2 we are called to look on the great warriors of the past. Not only the ones mentioned in 11:1-32, but also those unmentioned people of 32-39. Some of these men were conquerors by faith who fought and won battles, others suffered and sacrificed everything for GOD by faith. But GOD says to look at their sacrifice and run OUR race patiently LOOKING UNTO JESUS...! We must not forget the sacrifices that men of GOD have made, and are making for us. We must not forget about those men and women who die to pass on the true LIBERTY of Jesus Christ to this world. And we mus imitate them. Running OUR race patiently no matter what we may face!
As Nehemiah 4:14 says "... Be not ye afraid of them: remember the LORD, which is great and terrible, and fight for your brethren, your sons, and your daughters, your wives, and your houses." Men have died and left us a legacy to maintain. What are YOU doing to honor that legacy???!!!

Thank GOD for his servants that were willing to pay the ultimate price for HIM!
